DescriptionYard goods, cotton, plain weave, printed in brown, green, red, pink, blue, black, and tan. Design: Columbus landing in America surrounded by the members of his crew, portrait of Washington, picture of the Capitol, M.M.C. Portrait of a man presumably Columbus, the western hemisphere, the Statue of Liberty, stars floating on striped ground with abbreviations of states. Printed Columbus commemorative. 1893, Lowell Massachusetts, Merrimack Manufacturing Company. America discovered 1492, World's fair 1892 Chicago, Statue of Liberty, e pluribus unum, the new world and abbreviations of all the states printed in starts floating around in the backgrond of blue and red stripes. Merrimack Mfg Co. liquidated May 1958.
