DescriptionBlack basalt lamp. Boat-form on turned & fluted splayed foot screwed to square plinth with cut corners (broken). Robed classic woman sits with legs at sides of raised elliptical center, fluted, with knobbed lid, holding pitcher. Cylindrical wick in high prow. Sides with applied ornament. (usual figure holds book - see Third Wedgwood Seminar, 1958, p.112) Incised name on base.
