DescriptionCoffee pot with domed, round ball finial cover. Bowl of pot circled by chinoiserie figures and children in a garden, slight landscaping in background. Cover decorated in same manner.

ProvenanceProbably William Rix Seago, Esq. August 1873, sold by Messrs. Spelman, Lowestoft [see note 1]. By 1940, Arthur S. Vernay, New York (dealer); November 15, 1940, purchased by Forsyth Wickes (b.1876-d.1964), New York and Newport, RI; 1965, bequest of Forsyth Wickes to the MFA. (Accession date: December 24, 1965)
