DescriptionSquare silver, gold, and copper bracelet that is made of small silver and copper triangles that the artist carefully cut and soldered from wire, and inlayed to form a mosaic-like pattern. The bracelet was then polished, filed, and hammered into its final square form. The artist describes the technique as being related to both murrina, a technique typically employed by glass artists to add color, and the Japanese technique mokumé gane, which creates a wood grain pattern on metal.
Provenance2013, made by Stefano Marchetti, Italy; 2015, sold by Marchetti to the MFA. (Accession date: March 18, 2015)
