DescriptionThe cup is bombé in shape and rests on a plain flat base. The domed cover fits over the rim of the cup, resting on two applied strips at the top of the scroll-shaped handles. The spool-shaped finial has a broad flat top engraved with a crest in mantling.

Construction:
The body of the vessel is raised from a single sheet; the cast handles are applied. The cover is raised. The finial is constructed of two pieces.
Marks On base of cup, repeated on outside edge of cover, maker's mark PD, three pellets above, a cinquefoil below in a plain shield (Jackson, 1921, p. 129; rev. ed. 1989, p. 125); date letter f; lion passant; leopard's head crowned
