DescriptionThe cup rests on a stepped molded foot with a stamped rim. The domed section of the foot is engraved with a band of stylized foliage. The stem is spool-shaped with a flattened knop. The vessel has high, slightly flaring sides, a flat base, and an everted rim. It is engraved with a band of stylized foliage. The cover is slightly domed and engraved with a band of foliage; it has a spool-shaped finial with a broad flat top.

Construction:
The domed foot of the vessel is raised with applied cast and stamped wire moldings. The stem is formed from two raised pieces joined to a formed knop with molded wires at each end. The body of the vessel is raised and engraved. The cover is formed from a single disk, with an applied wire forming the interior bezel; the finial is composed of a raised spool-shaped base surmounted by a flat disk.
Marks On cup near rim and on inside of parten, date letter H; lion passant; leopard's head crowned; maker's mark IH over a bear passant in a circle (Jackson, 1921, p. 107; rev. ed. 1989, p. 99)
