DescriptionThe round bowl has a flat base, with curved sides rising to a straight rim. The cartouche-shaped handle is pierced with shields and hearts in a symmetrical pattern.

Construction:
The bowl is raised. The cast handle is soldered to the rim.
Marks On rim near handle, maker's mark WS a mullet and two pellets above and below in a circle (Jackson, 1921, p. 136); maker's mark RN or RM a mullet below (possibly Jackson, 1921, p. 132; rev. ed. 1989, p. 134); leopard's head crowned; lion passant; indecipherable date letter
InscriptionsArmorials: Engraved on handle, an unidentified coat of arms (a stag statant, differenced with a crescent for second son)
