DescriptionThe cup rests on a trumpet-shaped stem with a stepped foot. The lower section of the foot is flat-chased with a patter of lobes containing stylized flowers against a matted ground. The bucket-shaped cup has a slightly flaring rim. The sides of the cup are chased with stylized flowers (poppy heads?) bunches of grapes within an arcade against a matted ground. The inside base of the cup is, decorated with a chased star against a matted ground. The body of the vessel is raised, chased, and matted. The stem is raised and similarly decorated. The gilding has been renewed and covers the interior of the foot. b a large area near the engraved coat of arms the gilding has been removed; the shadow of earlier engraving is still visible
