DescriptionThe candlesticks rest on stepped bases of square outline with cropped corners. The base rises to a baluster stem, with a large central knop of inverted pear shape. The nozzle is in the form of a cylinder. The surface is decorated on the base, central knop, and nozzle with flat-chased chinoiserie birds and foliage. The base of each candlestick is raised, with the rim strengthened by an applied wire. The stem is cast in several pieces; the nozzle is seamed, with wires applied to each rim. The flat-chased decoration and the marks are worn.

On base of stem of each, maker's mark IB a pellet between, a crescent and two pellets below, three pellets above (similar to Jackson, 1921, p. 130; rev. ed. 1989, p. 128)
