DescriptionCircular medal of Louis XIV (1638-1715), king of France, commemorating peace of the Pyrenees between France and Spain.
Obverse: Profile bust of Louis XIV looking to proper left, wearing armor; inscribed at edge "LUDOVICUS·XIIII·REX·CHRISTIANISSIMUS" and under bust "R".
Reverse: Two clasped hands, one on proper right representing France (bearing fleur-de-lis on cuff) and one on proper left representing Spain (bearing castle and two lions on cuff) infront of diappered background of fleur-de-lis enclosed by beaded circle; inscribed at edge "AETERNAE CONCORDIAE FRANCIAE ET HISPANIAE", below "I·M·F", and in exergue "M·DC·LX".
