DescriptionFifty ducat piece, commemorating the victory of King Sigismund III of Poland over the Turks and the Battle of Chocim. Dies were by Jacob Jacobson of Emden & Samuel Ammon, Die Sinker in Danzig.
Circular. Obverse: Inscribed. Bust of Sigismund looking to proper left, wearing rich armor and chain and Order of the Golden Fleece; signed and dated under bust.
Reverse: Inscribed. The crowned arms of Poland, Lithuania surcharged with quartered Swedish shield, and central Vasa shield surrounded by Chain of Golden Fleece. Signed on each side of arms and dated in the center; signed and dated below and under sheild and inscribed at edge.
