DescriptionCircular medal of Louis XIII (1601-1643), king of France, commemorating his taking the title "the Just" (le Juste).

Obverse: Profile bust of Louis XIII looking to proper left, wearing lace collar, armor, and Nemean lion skin; inscribed at edge "LVDOVIC·XIII D·G·FRANCOR·ET NAVARAE REX" and under bust "G·DVPRE".

Reverse: Seated Justice looking to proper left, holding a sword in right hand and a scale in left with the constellation Libra depicted above; inscribed at edge "VT·GENTES·TOLLAT·QVE·PREMAT·QVE" and in exergue "1623".
