NOTES:
[1] Three vases of similar design, known as "vases floréals," entered the sales room of the Sèvres factory in 1813 and 1814. Two were delivered in December, 1814 on the order of Louis XVIII. The third vase remained in the warehouse until 1830, when it was presented to the viceroy of Egypt. It is not known which of these three is the MFA vase, today the only known example of its kind. See Tamara Préaud et al., The Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory: Alexandre Brogniart and the Triumph of Art and Industry, 1800-1847 (New Haven and New York, 1997), cat. no. 29, fig. 10-2.
