DescriptionHard-paste porcelain decorated in polychrome enamels and gold. Marks: gilder's 52. in gold to base of bowl and saucer. Circular teabowl and saucer with shaped cartouches outlined in gold and painted with polychrome chinoiseries. An Oriental man stands holding a bell-toy and whisk beside fences and shrubs (teabowl) and an Oriental woman offers a tray of birds to a child on a high-chair (saucer). The remaining surface area is decorated with elaborate scrolls in gold and iron-red, and 'indianische Blumen'. The interior rim of the teabowl is painted with scrollwork in gold and an 'indianische Blumen' in the basin. The verso of the saucer is decorated with three concentric circles in red. Condition: Excellent. Some minor rubbing to the gilding.
