DescriptionAn evening dress in two parts (bodice and skirt), of pale yellow damask with large-scale pattern of chrysanthemums in deeper yellow weft floats; bodice (a) with wide square cut neckline, and very short sleeves, slightly pointed in center front, laced down center back, sleeves and front gilet-like panel of bodice made of yellow chiffon pleated and gathered, pearl bead embroidery in floral design around neck, black velvet ribbons under pearls over shoulders, back closure with lacing holes and cotton cord and hooks and eyes, petersham sewn inside of white silk satin with gold-colored warp threads woven into a British (or Stuart) coat of arms followed by "Parcher/Boston"; (b) skirt in multiple layers, overskirt open down front with fullness in loose pleats at back to form fish-tail train; underskirt of pleated yellow chiffon with yellow silk rouched ribbon trim, over a layer of cream-colored chiffon with self-rouched trim, over a layer of cream-colored taffeta with deep pleated hem, deep buckram hem inside train and back interior hem ruffle of silk taffeta with pinked edges
