DescriptionSoft-paste porcelain, colored enamels. Time seated on pedestal, flowered drapery thrown around his waist, holding Cupid on his knee; tinge of pink on wings of both. At his feet on gilded and colored rococo scrolled base a scythe and scepter (broken) an hour-glass, crown, globe and Cupid's quiver. Cupid's fingers and wing broken. Based on a painting by Sir Anthony Van Dyck, formerly in collection of The Duke of Marlborogugh at Blenheim. A similar but smaller example is in the Schreiber Collection, V&A Museum.
