DescriptionOn irregular base with applied flowers, leaning against stump, arms outstretched. Wide brimmed hat with yellow ribbon, white jacket and shirt, black tie with band and chevron below, red breeches, white stockings, black shoes with blue bows.

NOTES:
[1] In a letter to Kathryn Buhler (September 29, 1953), Sigmund Katz reports that "Lewis will be shipping several pieces which he acquired for us shortly after he reached England in the sales rooms. These include...the figure [similar to one] illustrated in the catalogue of the Chelsea Loan Exhibition 1951, no. 20. The one we have is marked with a red anchor, while the one illustrated is...marked with raised anchor."
