This jug-named for the reclining goats at the base and bee on the flowering tree above-is the earliest known model in English porcelain. Chelsea sold this popular jug with different types of decoration; only a few examples, such as this one, were decorated before glazing with cobalt blue and manganese enamels.

DescriptionBase and back to height of short-horn goats have underglaze blue, white above. Brown markings on goats. Mark: incised triangle on bottom.
