DescriptionDecorated with an allegory of Fire, possibly based on a 1695 print by Etienne Baudet after the painting by Francesco Albani in the Galleria Sabauda, Turin. In this version, putti in the foreground and background make arrows in the forge of Vulcan, who reclines on the right. Venus rides across the sky in her chariot and distributes burning torches to putti. Jupiter hovers in the centre, clutching thunderbolts. Rim decorated with red and gold floral border.
