DescriptionSet of 12 Knives, Forks and Spoons (see 32.368.36). The knives and forks have a slightly flaring decorated cylindrical handle, cast in two pieces, with an angled terminus. The spoons have an oval bowl, a rat tail, and a flattened stem with a ridged, Hanoverian terminus.
Marks 32.368.1-32.368.12, (knives) except 32.368.9 and 32.368.12 have an illegible maker's mark on the handle (possibly IT or TI or II) 32.368.13-32.368.24 (forks) have an illegible maker's mark on the stem (possibly IT or TI or II). 32.368.25, on stem, maker's mark GR with two pellets above; Britannia; lion's head erased; date letter r (1712). 32.368.26, on stem, maker's mark AR (possibly Grimwade 84 for Andrew Archer); Britannia; lion's head erased; date letter t (1714/ 5). 32.368.28, 32.368.31, on stem, maker's mark HO with a fleur-de-lys above and below in a shaped shield (Grimwade 1051 for John Holland I); Britannia; lion's head erased; date letter B (1717/8). 32.368.27, 32.368.29, 32.368.30, 32.368.32, 32.368.33, 32.368.34, 32.368.35, all marked on stem, all illegible.
