DescriptionLantern clock with palmettes in the dial/ face plate corners. Engraved crestings (3) with dolphins. Inside chapter ring nicely engraved with leafy whorls and scrolling. Turned finials on bell domed, and at corners. Pierced and etched brass cresting at front and sides. On four turnip feet. No side panels.
Inscriptions"Tempus edax rerum" (from Ovid's Metamorphoses 15, 234) engraved below dial.
