DescriptionTea canister, for the Danish market. Eliptical in section, fluted at corners, with wide short feet. Flat shoulder, gilded shaped collar. Black and gilt design on cover and upper sides. On front, Neptune (holding trident) and Amphitrite hold a crown over shaped plaques each with medallions: in one a femail portrait bust, a monogram in the other. A ship under sail with Danish flag on the back.
