春の部。上野寛永寺に向かう広小路を描く。右側は明和5年（1786）名古屋の呉服商伊藤屋が買収した上野の呉服商松坂屋で、前の通りを花見客の一行が通る。安政2年に起こった大地震は江戸に甚大な被害をもたらしたが、広重はこのシリーズを通して復興の様を描いている。本図には、松坂屋の復興した安政3年9月の改印があり、復興の様子を速報性をもって伝えていることがわかる。 -- 藤澤紫Ｋ
