DescriptionThe urn-shaped jug rests on a spreading, domed foot with a string beading around the edge and palmette leaves spreading down from the base of the body. The foot is raised in a single piece, with an applied wire on the interior of the rim. The body of the vessel is raised in two sections, its lower half chased with fluting and the upper half chased with garlands of flowers and ribbons draped from roundels. The spool-shaped neck is covered with vertical palmette leaves, and a string of beading follows the rim of the jug. The raised domed cover is chased with palmette leaves and has an urn-shaped finial with a midband of beading. The scroll-shaped wooden handle has foliate and beaded mounts.
