DescriptionThe boat-shaped body rests on an oval domed foot that is roughly modeled and cast with scrolls and shells enclosing two reserves containing a turtle and a lizard. The body is cast in two pieces and seamed along the middle. Scrolled cartouches on the side enclose a pastoral scene depicting a goat and a lamp leaping over a fence. A molded foliate shell is applied just below the spout, and the panel behind the handle is flat-chased with foliage and scrolls. The cast double-scroll handle is capped by a goat's head.
Marks On edge of foot, traces of two marks, indecipherable.
InscriptionsARMORIALS: engraved below spout, a crest, possibly that of Trotter (a horse passant, saddled and bridled).
