On bottom of basket, maker's mark PL in script with a crown above, a pellet between, and a large pellet below (Grimwade 2204); lion passant; leopard's head crowned; date letter i (1744/5).
InscriptionsARMORIALS: engraved on the belly of the basket, the arms of possibly Pikenham or Watlons (NOT the Duke of Montrose).
