DescriptionThe salver is circular with a heavy gadrooned edge. It is formed of sheet, with the rim, cast in sections, applied. Three cast shaped feet, a later addition, are riveted to the edge. The underside of the salver has a cut-card pattern radiating from a screw, which is used to join a gadrooned trumpet foot to the salver. The surface has been heavily buffed in the plain area around the engraving. Slight texture and color to the engraved area suggest that the salver might once have been gilt.
