DescriptionThe basket is boat-shaped, with fluted sides, and rests on a lozenge-shaped foot with a notched rim. Formed from sheet, it has a molded wire applied to the outer rim. The bail handle is reeded and fluted. The interior is gilt.

On the underside, maker's mark HB (Grimwade 961); lion passant (repeated on handle); leopard's head crowned; date letter p; sovereign's head;
InscriptionsARMORIALS: engraved on one side, the arms of Eaglesfield, quartering Smith or Lavenses and impaling Tindall, Tindale, or Cuppage. Engraved on the other side, an unidentified crest (an eagle displayed) (probably that of Eaglesfield).
