DescriptionThe pear-shaped body rests on a spreading circular foot. The body is formed of sheet silver, seamed vertically, with an inset base. The curved spout, cast in two pieces, has fluted, foliate scrolls at its base and an acanthus leaf at its tip. The ear-shaped wooden handle is mounted from the top by a cast scrolled socket with a foliate base and at the base with a fluted scroll. The hinged, stepped, domed cover is raised and fitted with a wire rim and bezel. It is surmounted by a cast baluster finial.

To right of handle, lion passant; maker's mark WS/WP (Grimwade 3335); date letter q; leopard's head crowned.
