DescriptionThis object is a carved, peg-like dowel with a semi-bulbous head painted a reddish-orange. It likely from a tomb model and probably represents a censer once held in the hand of a figure, perhaps a priest.
ProvenanceFrom Deir el-Bersha, tomb 10, shaft A (tomb of Djehutynakht). May 1915: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
