DescriptionThis is a long, thin reed stick, pierced at one end. It may be a mast from a model sailing boat or one of a cache of sticks (some of which are model bows and arrows) deposited in the tomb from which it was excavated (Deir el-Bersha, Tomb 10, shaft A).
ProvenanceFrom Deir el-Bersha, tomb 10, shaft A (tomb of Djehutynakht). May 1915: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
