DescriptionOne of a pair of shaped circular deep dishes, with guilloche pattern rims with molding below. The borders are engraved with an English Earl's armorials.
Marks
Maker's Mark: Indistinct, attributed to Jacques Rottiers (A crowned fleur-de-lis, two grains , IR, a sheaf of wheat, Dennis, 293), but too incomplete to tell, see 1993.509.2. Warden's Mark: 1738-1739: a crowned Y, incomplete (Dennis, 185). Charge Mark: 1738-1744: a crowned A with palm branches (Dennis, 290). Discharge Mark: for small work, 1738-1744: a fox's head, incomplete (Dennis, 135). Other: Three circles on the rim.
