DescriptionA silver-gilt covered bowl and plateau from a traveling service [See 1993.497.1-4], the plateau plain with a gadrooned wedge, the bowl plain with stylized shell handles, the lid with gadrooned edge, cut and applied sunburst motif, and hinged loop handle.
Marks
Warden's Mark: 1694-95, a crowned A (Beuque I #1682 p 191): Underside of lid and plateau, on bowl beneath handle. Charge Mark: for large work, 1691-98, a capital A with 2 fleurs-de-lys (Beuque I #1699 p 193): Underside of lid and plateau, bowl beneath handle. Other: "398" struck underside of bowl and plateau.
