DescriptionOne of a pair of candlesticks, cast, on a molded circular base with a band of alternating shells and foliage on a matted ground. The reed and ribbon knop rises to a tapering stem with floral strapwork on a matted ground. The shoulders and base of the nozzle are similarly decorated. The upper nozzle is banded and engraved with no. 14.
Marks
Warden's Mark: 1707-1708: a crowned O incomplete (Dennis, 174). Charge mark: 1704-1712: an A encircled by a crown (Dennis, 126). Discharge mark: verification mark used as a discharge mark 1704-1712: a fly (Dennis, 180) Other: a small illegible mark at the outer rim of the base.
