DescriptionHand candlestick cast with a shaped circular molded pan and reeded rim with alternating foliage and vertical bands and a circular reeded base. The nozzle isin the form of a shaped circular vase. The handle is curved, fluted and molde d with a shell on a matted ground at the terminal and a small applied foot on the reverse side of the handle. A crest is engraved in the pan.

Warden's Mark: a crowned O for Paris 1754-1755 - under base (“Datation de l’orfevrerie parisienne sous l’Ancien Regime”, Bimbenet-Privat, de Fontaine, p.133, 1995).
Discharge Mark for small work: a hen’s head for Paris (small work) 1750-1756 - on the outer edge of the rim (“Datation de l’orfevrerie parisienne sous l’Ancien Regime”, Bimbenet-Privat, de Fontaine, p.132, 1995).
Discharge Mark for large work (partial mark): a horse head (also called "ox's head in the Dennis book) for Paris (large work) 1750-1756 - under base (“Datation de l’orfevrerie parisienne sous l’Ancien Regime”, Bimbenet-Privat, de Fontaine, p.132, 1995).
Other marks:
_ a boar's head: warranty after 1838 - three times.
_ Two undecipherable marks: a trace of mark - under base - probably the maker's mark and a barrel shape mark - on the outer edge of the rim - unreferenced mark but a barrel looking exactly the same, found on a parisian object by Edme Pierre Balzac (master 1739-1781).
_ a standing bird: discharge mark for Rouen, old objects, 1756-1762 - under the handle.
