DescriptionA silver-mounted Languedoc marble tobacco box, with a serpentine hinged and molded top above a conforming base enclosing cylindrical lidded compartments.
Marks Discharge Mark: for small work, 1756-1762: a shell (Dennis, 25). It is on all silver mounts except the key.
InscriptionsThe top with a monogram "FB"
ProvenanceJune 19, 1959, sold by Au Vieux Paris (gallery), Paris, to Elizabeth Parke Firestone (b. 1897- d. 1990) and Harvey S.
