DescriptionHand candlestick, cast with a shaped circular pan and a reeded rim with an applied, flat circular base. Campana shaped nozzle with banding at the base and rim. A slightly curved fiddle thread handle has a foliate base with an upturned terminal with an engraved crest.

Maker's Mark: a crowned star, I(?) C, the rest illegible, a mark of a crowned star, IC, a fleur-de-lis below is attributed to Jean Clement (Helft, 63). Maison Commune: 1746: a shield with 1746 and ribbons(?) (Helft, 64). Charge Mark: 1744-1750: a crowned M, two grains (Helft, 63). Discharge mark: 1744-1750: a fleur-de-lis (Helft, 63). Other: LHF; part of a crown on the outer rim of the pan; Guarantee mark used after 1838 for medium sized work: a small boar's head (Tardy, p. 173).
