DescriptionOne of a pair of candlesticks. Cast with a shaped circular domed base chased with strapwork and a diaper and oval band. A crest is engraved on the base. The knop is gadrooned and rises up to a triangular section stem with a calyx of volutes and shells with molding above. The knops and shoulders are of a similar shape. The stem gives way to a banded spool shaped nozzle with chased fluting (?) or foliage (?) pattern on the base of the nozzle with a badly worn pattern on the rim.
Marks Maker's Mark: a crowned fleur-de-lis, tow grains, IBB(?) (Helft, 920-922); Maison Commune: a crowned Y with an Ermine spot (Helft, 923); An indeterminate mark with the master's and warden;s marks, two indecipherable marks on exterior rim of base.
