DescriptionOne of a pair (with 65.1845). Each jar is cylindrical in form with a flat base, and is decorated with a turquoise (bleu celeste) ground. On each, the oval reserves are painted with polychrome mixed flowers on the obverse and various fruits and flowers on the reverse. Tooled gilt flowers, scrolls, and diapered panels frame each reserve. A plain gilt band encircles each base and a gilt dentil band decorates each rim. Originally, these jars would have had covers.
Marks interlaced Ls enclosing date letter F, painter's mark below (partly obliterated), possibly for Guillaume Noel (active at Sevres 1755-1800), both inblue enamel; incised 4.
