DescriptionOne of a pair, see 65.1857. The seaux are pail shaped and taper to a flat foot. The handles are ear shaped with an additional curve towards the base of the handle. A
raised band runs a round the circumference of each seau where the top of the handle joins the body; a similar parallel band is located near the foot. The quatrefoil reserves are painted with flowers on the obverse and fruit on the reverse and are framed by elaborate, tooled gilt borders. The ground color, which is turquoise (bleu celeste), is more mottled than usual.
