DescriptionOne of a pair of cast candlesticks with shaped circular bases. The stem, knop,and shoulder are of shaped triangular section. The knop has a molded edge ris ing to a stem with a calyx of volutes and shells with molding above. The stem gives way to a regular hexagonal nozzle. There are marks of an erased crest onthe base.

Maker's Mark: a crowned LD with a grain between, attributed to Laurent Dunand (Helft, 1248).
Other: a crowned wreath surrounding a shield with an R below, "Poincon d'essayeur de Georges REY pour Chambery, premiere moitie du XVIIIe S." (Helft, 1246-1248); A curving HW, the H inscribed over the W (?).
