DescriptionLinen and plain twill ground in four pieces with wool embroidery; design of hillocks, one with broken tree trunk, sprays of large flowers, some quite realistic with highly ornamental foliage; piece added to right embroidered with hillock with flowers, leaping deer and strawberries; hillocks or mounds, berries, and leaves in New England Laid stitch (Roumanian Couching), thin stems and outlines of leaves and flowers in chain stitch and filled with star and link stitches, veins of leaves in branching stem stitch, green and white hillock with broken trunk filled with couched broken stem stitch; uneven lower edge bound with tape
