DescriptionGilded cartonnage mask with stylized features. The heavy wig is painted blue in imitation of lapis lazuli, with a red fillet. The ends of the lappets are decorated with images of the funerary god Ptah-Sokar.
ProvenanceFrom the Fayum. 1902: excavated by the Egypt Exploration Fund; given to the MFA by the Egypt Exploration Fund.
