DescriptionLong rectangular body of wedge-shaped cross-section, with removable cover, made of pine throughout except for end blocks of mahogany. Two trefoil-shaped soundholes. Two fixed bridges of walnut. Twelve gut strings fixed to brass? hitch pins at one end, passing over bridges and fastened at opposite end to staggered iron zither-type tuning pins with square heads. Cover has four brass pins to locate position on body, and forms wedge-shaped air passage when in place.
