DescriptionIn A-flat and in G-flat. Conoidal bore. Boxwood, stained black; ivory tips and mouthpiece. Made in four principal parts; the cap, which serves as an air-chamber for both tubes; the lip-stock with a double bore; two tubes of unequal length. The lip-stock has two lips cut in it; each lip can be silenced by a cut-off shutter operated by a key. The shorter tube has for its lowest tone a'-flat; six finger-holes, of which the first one from the top is partially plugged; four silver keys nominally called C-sharp (open), D-sharp, F-natural, and high D-natural (the last three closed). The longer tube has g'-flat for its lowest tone; four finger-holes; five keys, nominally called B and C keys, F, high B, and C, of which two low keys are open and operated by long articulated levers.
