DescriptionBack comprised of seventeen ribs of maple, each separated by strips of dark brown wood, with capping strip. Belly of medium-grain softwood. Soundhole encircled with flowers of pearl set in red mastic. Separate carved rose of wood in geometrical pattern. Belly inlaid at upper and lower ends with pearl in floral designs. Trapezoidal pickguard of tortoiseshell, edged with ebony and ivory. Neck of hardwood inlaid with strips of ebony and ivory. Pegbox of walnut (?), terminating in square finial veneered with triangles of ebony and pearl. Tuning pegs of ebonized wood. Fingerboard veneered with strips of ebony and ivory; seven frets of brass and six of wood. Nut of ivory. Bridge of ebonized wood with cap of ivory. Six pegs of ivory at lower end of body for fastening strings. Twelve strings in six pairs.
