DescriptionPanel made of two lengths of "bizarre" silk. Light orange-red damask ground with large scale design of conventionalized fruit, including pineapples, palms, and a group of fans (?) in an ornamental receptacle brocaded with yellow-green, green, light blue, pale blue and light pink silk and gold and silver metal thread; made of several pieces; backed with yellow silk; edged with wide silver galloon. Has 2 Duplicate Fragments in box.
ProvenanceBy 1939, Adolph Loewi, Venice and Los Angeles [see note 1]; 1948, sold by Loewi to the MFA for $375. (Accession Date: May 12, 1949)
