DescriptionThis neck ornament is a snake-lie wrap and is composed of hundreds of pierced paper circles that appear to have been cut from a manuscript. The circular end pieces, or caps, are made of silver. There is no clasp or closure. The necklace comes with a handmade fitted, wooden box with various printed material and designs on the surface and underside. On the inside edge of the box is the date and title of the work in pencil.
Signed
The artists' signature, J. Paterak, written in cursive, is impressed on one of the end pieces. The is also another stamp "j.e" as well as a larger maker's mark which depicts the triskelion motif (three spirals). The triskelion stamp is based on the flag of the Isle of Mann.
