The MFA recently purchased two late 1950s textiles by Scandinavian designer Viola Grasten that are part of a monochromatic series based on trees. But Grasten was equally famous for her use of deep, saturated colors, as seen here. "Oomph" is her most famous design, and a testament to her skill as a colorist. This length is believed to be an early printing, and is in excellent condition.
