DescriptionPincushion covered with silk woven with stripes of dark brown alternating with finely figured brown and cream colored silk, pins arranged in bands of letters, zig-zags, and diamonds, stuck in the dark brown stripes, backed with figured dark brown and pale brown silk, tassels of blue and yellow silk at the four corners, some of the pins have been removed; worn; according to tradition pincushion was presented by Queen Anne of Denmark, wife of James I. of England to an ancestor of donor who was one of the Queen's ladies in attendance.
